Hi, I’m Katie, and I’ve been right where you are.
Back in 2016, I was drowning in debt, overwhelmed, and completely unsure how to dig myself out. I knew something had to change, so I made the decision to take control of my money… and my life.
What started as a budgeting journey turned into something much bigger.
I learned that living frugally isn’t just about spreadsheets and cutting expenses. It’s about being intentional. It’s about stretching what you have, finding creative solutions, and building a life that feels full — without overspending.
Here’s what that looked like for me:
Taking ownership.
The first step was realizing I had the power to change my situation. It wasn’t instant, and it wasn’t perfect, but it was mine.
Experimenting and adjusting.
I tried every strategy I could find — budgeting methods, side hustles, meal planning, cutting subscriptions, cooking more at home, repurposing leftovers, DIY projects. Some things worked better than others (at one point my food budget was $3 a day!), but every small change I made added up.
Building a sustainable life.
Over time, I paid off my debt, built savings, and bought my first home. But more importantly, I built habits that made everyday life more affordable — and more meaningful.
Today, Budgeting on a Dime has grown into so much more than just budgets. It includes:
- Budget-friendly recipes that make simple ingredients shine
- Creative ways to reuse and repurpose what you already have
- Holidays, parties, and every day meals that don’t blow your monthly grocery budget
- Practical money strategies that actually work in real life
- Living intentionally and confidently — even in a high-cost world
I firmly believe you don’t need a massive budget to enjoy good food, create a welcoming home, and feel financial peace. A little planning, thoughtful choices, and a lot of heart can stretch what you have further than you think.
If you’re feeling stuck, stretched thin, or simply ready to be more intentional with your money, you’re in the right place.
You’re not alone — and you absolutely can build a life that feels abundant on a budget.
Let’s do it together. 💛
